When you don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen, to cook complicated dishes, you choose recipes that are as quick and easy to make as possible. That's how I suffer around the weekend. And so I chose this recipe.

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 200 gr cheese
  • 200 gr bacon
  • 250 gr mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • butter for greased form
  • 5-6 cherry tomatoes for decoration

RECIPE PREPARATION Bacon and mushroom potatoes:

1. Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes and boil them with a little salt. Remove and drain in a strainer.

2. Cut the mushrooms into large slices and fry in olive oil. After they are almost ready, add the sliced ​​bacon and cook together for a few minutes.

3. Grease a form (tray) with butter. Put half of the boiled potatoes in the bowl. Over them we put the mixture of mushrooms with bacon and then the remaining potatoes. Put the grated cheese on top and finally garnish with a few cherry tomatoes.

4. Bake for 15-20 minutes after which we can serve.

How to make these crispy bacon potatoes in the oven recipe for smoked baked potatoes?

Preparation of smoked baked potatoes (bacon, kaiser, ribs, ham)

If you have new potatoes, they are washed and cleaned with an abrasive sponge. If the skin is thin, you can leave them with the skin. I had older potatoes that I peeled in a thin layer with a peeler. Then I cut them into wedges and rinsed them in more water. In the end, I drained them thoroughly in a strainer and then I wiped (tamponed) them thoroughly with kitchen towels (textiles, not paper). We need to get rid of as much moisture as possible because otherwise it will prevent the potatoes from browning.

The potatoes are salted and peppered, mixed with oil and finally with the chopped bacon. If the bacon is very salty, be careful with the salt! I used a raw-dried and smoked bacon. You can also use kaiser, ham or smoked ribs.

After that I mixed everything I placed the potatoes in a tray lined with baking paper. If you want the bacon not to be so crispy, you can add it later, 10-15 minutes before the end. But I really liked the smoky aroma given to the potatoes but also the crunchy texture of the bacon. Be careful not to overcrowd the tray! The temperature of baking or frying the potatoes is crucial and my advice is not to overload the tray or the pan because the potatoes put on top of the pile will be smothered in their own juice instead of fried.

Bake potatoes with crispy bacon in the oven

I put the tray in the preheated oven at 200 C (up + down + ventilation or high stage in the gas ovens) and let the potatoes fry for 30 minutes (the time can be extended up to 45 minutes & # 8211 depending on the oven ). I was careful that it browned nicely but did not burn. Potatoes should not be mixed or turned.

  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • a little grated cheese
  • 4 pcs. dehydrated tomatoes
  • green parsley for decoration

Preparation of the filling for puff pastry appetizer baskets with bacon and mushrooms

Let the puff pastry thaw at room temperature and meanwhile prepare the filling.
Chop the onion scales and heat it in hot oil until it becomes glassy, ​​then add over it, the drained mushrooms and after a few minutes the julienned bacon.
Leave the bowl on the fire until the bacon is well prepared, stirring occasionally with a spatula, then pour the ingredients in a sieve to drain the liquid.
Let them cool well.
Mix the two eggs well and dilute them with milk then add the breadcrumbs and baking powder.
Over this dough, add the cooled ingredients, the finely chopped pickled donut and mix everything well.

We cut the puff pastry into four squares with which we cover the walls of the shapes in which we will bake the baskets.
Divide the mixture of ingredients into four and put it in baskets.
Bake the baskets for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees, and after turning off the heat, add pieces of dehydrated tomatoes and a little grated cheese on top, and leave the baskets in the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
You can fill the appetizer baskets with various vegetables and meat dishes, I just limited myself to bacon, mushrooms and donuts, this time.

Put the potato tray in the preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes. If we want the potatoes to brown well, remove the aluminum foil, after a few minutes, and leave them in the oven until they are browned enough.

After the potatoes are baked, take them out of the oven, let them cool a bit, then serve them with your loved ones. Good appetite and increase cooking!
