Cat's Tongues Recipe of 29-11-2013 [Updated on 13-07-2016]

Cat's tongues are light and crumbly biscuits made of only egg whites, sugar, butter and flour and are perfect to accompany tea, creams, puddings and ice cream. They are very simple biscuits to make and are present in all European gastronomy, their narrow and long shape recalls the tongue of a cat, hence their cute name. This morning I am writing to you from London, a city that I love and where I had already been a few years ago, I left yesterday afternoon to be able to spend the weekend here, and I can't wait to start my tour of the city, so I greet you and I'm going to get ready. I remind you that today's recipe can also be found on Donna Moderna on newsstands this week where I proposed cat tongues as biscuits to be placed in bags of biscuits that you can prepare as a Christmas present for friends and relatives. Good day to those who pass by here.

How to make cat tongues

Work the softened butter with the icing sugar until you get a cream.

Add the flour and vanilla while continuing to mix.

Finally add the egg white and whisk until all the ingredients are completely amalgamated.

Put the dough in a syringe for sweets and create sticks 6 cm long. Remember to space one stick well from the other so that they do not touch each other during cooking.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° for about 8 minutes.
When the edges start to be golden, take out the cat's tongues.

Immediately remove from the pan with the help of a spatula and let cool, then serve.
